Can you find most hidden cameras with a cheap bug detector from ebay or should I get a professional sweep?
My housemates and I don't have the money needed for a professional sweep ($1200). We found hidden cameras in the common areas, we want to know if our rooms are being recorded. Landlord's a creepy guy who hits on all the women. Would one of those $30 RF detectors that picks up between 900 mhz and 3ghz work?
We called the cops last night and they did a superficial search of the place.
Call your local police and see if they have a crime prevention officer who can help. Something like this may be just interesting enough for them to get involved (it's less boring than much of their day to day work). Either way, they can either advise you, or you could even get a free sweep from them!
